As a child I wanted to be a paleontologist. I was drawn to the concept of discovery and recovering things that could reveal the mysteries of past worlds.

 

In reference to the extremely rich South African fossil bed Karoo, this collection of papercuts are the discoveries unearthed during the imaginary expeditions I continue to venture on.

They are framed in petri dishes or mounted to eye catching discs so that the viewer examines them closely as you would a fascinating specimen.
